THE POSITION
The Quality Inspector is a methodical, detailed oriented, and creative professional responsible for executing on daily quality related tasks to maintain high standards and will support process improvements in manufacturing operations.
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT
- Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Prepare and review quality documentation, including non-conformance reports (NCR), first article inspections (FAI), and Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
- Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Identify non-conforming products or processes and report issues to relevant team.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Investigate non-conforming products and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct and support internal audits to maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications.
- Support customer complaint resolution by participating in root cause analysis and implementing 8D reports.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE
- Education: Technical diploma or certificate in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
- 1–3 years in QA, manufacturing, or a similar role.
- General familiarity of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is an asset.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and methods (e.g., ISO 9001, SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
- Background in manufacturing processes and practices.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement is considered an asset
- Computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works or similar CAD software.
- General knowledge of various materials and properties used in processes such as plastics, metal fabrication, rubber, castings, stampings, etc.
- Work well under pressure and under tight timelines.
- High level of organizational skills, detail oriented, and analytical.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision.
